About The Role

Shape how new ideas reach Domino’s customers

At Domino’s, your skills, ideas and judgement really matter. As our Innovation Technical Manager, you’ll be the technical lead for our innovation portfolio, helping to take new products, ingredients, packaging, processes and equipment from initial concept through to launch and post-launch review.

You’ll make sure each innovation is safe, legal, operationally practical and ready for our stores. Working across Innovation, Operations, Marketing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Regulatory, IT and Supplier Assurance, you’ll provide the evidence and assurance teams need to make confident decisions.

What You’ll Bring

You’ll bring strong technical judgement, a practical understanding of food operations and the confidence to challenge a project when the evidence isn’t good enough. You’ll be comfortable turning complex food safety and regulatory information into clear recommendations for suppliers, operational teams and senior decision-makers.
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
  • A degree or equivalent qualification in food science, food technology, microbiology, nutrition or a related discipline.
  • Recognised HACCP and food safety training at Level 3 or above.
  • Current knowledge of allergen management.
  • At least five years’ technical or supplier assurance experience within food manufacturing, retail, hospitality or QSR, including taking products or processes from concept through trial and launch.
  • Strong knowledge of UK and Ireland food law relating to food safety, allergens, nutrition, claims, labelling, packaging and HFSS.
  • Experience of shelf-life validation, microbiological risk assessment, product specifications, supplier approval, traceability, withdrawal and recall.
  • The confidence to assess technical risk, identify launch blockers and clearly present your recommendations to senior colleagues.
  • Strong organisation and project coordination skills, with experience of bringing together several teams and external suppliers.
Lead auditor or project management training would be useful, as would knowledge of Primary Authority arrangements, ethical sourcing and sustainability requirements.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll provide technical leadership throughout the innovation process, balancing food safety, quality and regulatory requirements with the practical realities of supplying and operating new products in Domino’s stores.
Your work will include:
  • Leading technical assurance from concept to launch: You’ll assess new products, ingredients, packaging, equipment and processes, setting clear acceptance criteria and making sure the necessary evidence, specifications, procedures, training and store controls are ready before launch.
  • Owning food safety risk and validation: You’ll lead HACCP reviews and commission proportionate microbiological, chemical, physical, allergen, sensory, shelf-life, temperature, cooking, holding, handling and transport validation.
  • Supporting confident launch decisions: You’ll work with suppliers and teams across Domino’s to confirm launch readiness, approve technical data and customer-facing allergen and calorie information, resolve emerging issues and capture lessons for future campaigns.
You’ll also contribute to supplier selection, manage technical testing budgets, provide information for governance and Steerco approval, and recommend pausing a supplier, trial or launch when safety, legality or Domino’s standards could be compromised. [Role Profi...6 (1).docx | Word]
